Oak Street Health wanted a solution for stylized maps to help patients locate their centers. Using data from Open Street Maps, I created a unique, vector map for each of Oak Street Health's 100+ centers.
Oak Street Health was relying on highly simplified map/wayfinding imagery - quite literally two lines with a star at the intersection. There was a need for a more detailed asset that also felt like Oak Street Health.
Using data from Open Street Maps, I created a unique, vector map for each of Oak Street Health's 100+ centers. In order to maintain an efficient workflow, I would use Illustrator actions to record the steps taken in the creation of the first. Once completed, I ran the action set, step-by-step, on the next iteration to fine tune the approach. Eventually, the 2 hour long process would be shortened to 40 minutes. Eventually, the action was fine-tuned to an extent that allowed for these maps to be generated at multiple scales within minutes.
