As Oak Street Health continued to scale, developing branded maps and wayfinding tools in a timely manner quickly became a heavy lift for individual contributors. In order to keep up with the accelerated growth schedule, I developed a solution using the Mapbox platform that eliminated the need for manual creation of branded map assets.
Before, individual designers were tasked with creation of center, county, and state-level maps for all of Oak Street Health's locations. In the current state, the images are created through a primary location database and updated on some specific triggers (e.g. a new entry is created, or location details change). The image is then placed into a print-ready layout that displays the selected map choice as well as the address information for one or multiple Oak Street Health locations.
